FAQ

On this page, we publish frequently asked questions. If some piece of information is missing – please let us know by sending an email to optics.kn@uw.edu.pl

When will the conference be held?

The conference will be held in Chęciny on June 4-6, 2021.

What information connected to the COVID-19 pandemic do I need to know?

We hope that the epidemiological situation in June will be more or less stable and there will be no problem to host MiniModes in stationary mode. However, all the participants will have to wear a facemask and wash or disinfect their hands regularly (disinfectants will be provided by organizers).

Where can I register?

This year’s registration is now closed. See you in a year!

Is there a limit for the number of participants?

Only 30 students will be selected to participate in MiniModes 2021.

What is the required size of the posters? Can you share a template for the poster?

Each student participant is required to present a poster during MiniModes Photonics School. The recommended size is B1. We encourage you to use KNOF based templates for the scientific poster – available in PPTX, SVG, and PSD file formats.

What I should take with me to Chęciny?

The organizers provide transport, food, and accommodation (towels and linen provided). On Saturday we scheduled an excursion to Chęciny castle – it is highly recommended to bring warm clothes and comfortable shoes for this activity. Moreover, if you are one of the lucky people who own a KNOF branded T-shirt – you should bring it with you. Remember to bring your poster as well!

Who can participate in MiniModes Photonics School 2021?

Participation in MiniModes Photonics School 2021 is restricted to University of Warsaw students on all levels of education (Bachelor, Master, and PhD). Participation is free of charge – organizers cover the cost of travel, accommodation, and food. Additionally, it will be possible to apply for a poster printing grant to cover the cost of printing a B1 poster.

What will I have to pay for?

Participation in MiniModes 2021 is free of charge. Food, accommodation, and transport are provided by organizers and there is no conference fee.
